In today’s lifestyle I think we all get in such a hurry, that we sometimes forget to take care of ourselves. We don’t watch what we eat, we don’t exercise enough, and most of all we don’t get enough “me” time. So I thought I would just slip in a post about taking care of ourselves, so we can enjoy everything that life has to offer. So the following are a few things I found in different articles for ways to take care of ourselves. I am going to spread these out in a few posts, so stay tuned.
Let’s get to it!
What is this thing they call “BMI” . It stands for Body Mass Index. Ok, I am not some doctor, so in simple terms what does that mean. it uses your height to gauge if you are at a healthy weight. But that is not not completely foolproof, it also depends on your body type, ethnic group, and muscle mass. They usually gauge this by a number. You can go online to see how you fair in your BMI. When you are trying to lose weight to be healthier, there are other numbers you should pay attention to. Don’t just focus on the scale. Always consult your physician before starting any weight or exercise program to be sure it’s right for you.
So this is one that I am sure everyone doesn’t want to talk about. So breathe out, and wrap a tape measure around yourself midway between your hipbone and ribs. No matter what your height or build, if your waist measures more that 40 inches (35 inches for women who aren’t pregnant), you probably have extra fat around your heart, liver, kidneys, and other organs. This could lead to more chances heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, and colorectal cancer.
That’s it for this weeks post, next we will talk about the dreaded “Blood Pressure” and “Cholesterol”.
By they way, not trying to take away the main posts of keeping up with whats going on in golf, just want to add some healthy moment tips.
